Michealeena Cairo Trakas
Michealeena Cairo is a graduate of Elmhurst College, earning her Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2012. While completing her degree, she sang in every choral ensemble the College had to offer, including Women's Chorus, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, "Late Night Blues" vocal jazz ensemble, and Mark Streder's vocal combo. She served as president for Chamber Singers and Concert Choir and had the opportunity to conduct the Elmhurst College Alma Mater at every concert, at home and while touring. Most recently, Michealeena has sung in Alegrezza and Heritage Chorale, choruses in and near Chicago. Singing in choirs has brought Michealeena all over the United States with her high school and college choral ensembles, performing in California, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Iowa, and more. She even had the opportunity to teach in primary and secondary schools with a group from Elmhurst College in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2010. Michealeena is currently pursuing dual careers in public administration and music education, working at the Village of Addison and teaching private voice and piano lessons throughout the Chicagoland area. She has taught Beginning and Advanced Beginning Theory for Spirito! Singers for three years and has loved every moment of it.
