The William Ferris Chorale!

The Spirito! Singers Bravura ensemble is honored to have been invited to sing Gabriel Faure's "Requiem" with the William Ferris Chorale.  The William Ferris Chorale is a professional chorus founded in Chicago in 1971.  Led by Paul French, Music Director at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Spirito! Advisory Council member, the William Ferris Chorale is known for its “warm yet full-bodied choral tone and articulate, unaffected expressive gestures,” (ClassicsToday.com), and its “knack for unearthing interesting, seldom-heard music,” (Chicago Tribune).

Bravura will be singing four movements of Faure's "Requiem" and two movements of Handel's "Judas Maccabeus" with the Chorale.  The girls will also sing their own set of music including "Ave Maria" by Eleanor Daley, "Ain't No Grave," a traditional spiritual arranged by Caldwell and Ivory, and "Alleluia" by Randall Thompson.   This concert will be a marvelous opportunity to hear two great choruses together and fill yourself with the peace and tranquility of the music.

There will be two performances:

• Saturday, March 13, 2010, 7:30 pm at Madonna della Strada Chapel, Loyola University, Chicago
• Sunday, March 14, 2010, 3:00 pm at St. Cletus Church, LaGrange
