Spotlight on: Spirito! Advisory Council member, Paul French
(From Spirito! Newsletter Issue #4, 2008-2009)

Paul French is the Music Director of the William Ferris Chorale, a 24-voice professional choir in Chicago, now celebrating its 37th season of commitment to the choral music of the 20th and 21st centuries. In addition, he is the Music Director at Chicago’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and has worked with adult and children’s voices in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago for nearly two decades.
Mr. French is a composer of more than 200 instrumental and choral works in a variety of media including pieces for adults and children’s choirs, voice, organ, brass and orchestra. Spirito! is very excited that we will be singing one of his compositions at our Spring concert on May 17th.
In addition to spending time with the Spirito Singers rehearsing his composition, Paul French was in attendance at our Overture! concert in December. He states, "I was very pleased to witness the initial efforts of what is surely destined to grow into a marvelous and important cultural, musical, social and spiritual reality for the community. I was delighted in the programming, most especially in the works when the chorus combined with the hammer dulcimer - a lovely and unexpected texture was created. This organization has a very bright future."
Spirito! is pleased to announce that the group will be collaborating with Mr. French's William Ferris Chorale in the Spring of 2010 for a very special concert. Stay tuned for more info!
