Nancy Ashburn

Nancy Ashburn has played the piano and sung in various school choral groups, including madrigals and show choir, and local suburban choruses over a period that spans more than 35 years. She has accompanied various choral groups and solo/ensemble festivals for over 30 years, beginning in 5th grade, including the District 102 solo/ensemble festival. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois; she majored in accountancy but performed and toured with the highly esteemed Women's Glee Club for four years and was a member of the select a cappella group 'Girls Next Door'. She also took music theory while at U of I, and in her spare time taught beginning piano lessons and did a little accompanying. Nancy has taught piano lessons on and off since 1996. She is currently the music director at Methodist Preschool in La Grange, and has held that position since 2002. She has shared her love of music with over 1,000 children aged 2 1/2 to 5, using a highly successful curriculum that she developed. Nancy lives in La Grange with her husband and two children.
