Spotlight on: Spirito! Artistic and Executive Director, Molly Lindberg

Where did the name Spirito! come from?  Molly Lindberg, Spirito Singer's Executive & Artistic Director explains:

"I chose our name Spirito! for very specific reasons. The word "Spirito" is Italian for "Spirit". Its origins are from the Latin word "Spiritus" which literally means breath. Breath is synonymous with life. We cannot live without the air that we breathe. We cannot live a fulfilled life without acknowledging what helps us breathe. Needing the air ... is just biology. We can’t breathe healthfully unless we are leading fulfilled lives that go beyond ourselves. So, our Spiritus ... our breath ... is essential in the physical sense, the emotional sense and the spiritual sense. The word, "Spiritual" means "Related or joined in spirit." And that is exactly what I want for these girls. I want them to be joined in spirit ... with each other, with their families, and with their music making. I wish them to lead energized, animated, and faith filled lives."
